Who we are

The 181st Scout Group was established as a result of cooperation between the Castaheany/Ongar Community Council and Scouting Ireland in 2005.

We are based in the Mary Mother of Hope Community Centre in Littlepace.

Sections

Beavers

The Beavers cater for children from the ages of 6 to 9. They follow a programme laid down by Scouting Ireland. They get awarded badges at various stages along the way.

BEAVERS MEET EVERY MONDAY EVENING IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

TIME: 6:30PM-7:45PM

Cubs

The next step up is the Cubs, which caters for children in the 9-12 age range. They expand on what was covered in Beavers while also following a more diverse age related programme. They get awarded badges when they complete the requirements. They further work in the outdoors and are introduced to new skills which will be enhanced when they go into Scouts.

CUBS MEET EVERY FRIDAY EVENING IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

TIME: 7:00-8:30PM

Scouts and Venture Scouts

Scouts cater for children in the age group from 12-14. Ventures from 15-18. Their activities increase the knowledge and skills that were acquired in Cubs while introducing new skills.:
